I mean a system similar to that of path of exile. I would prefer a respec system where you would only get a few respec points for skills and stats so you have a limited amount for experimentation or a bit maneuverability around too hard problems when you level up or if you have missclicked. The feeling for I have made it so far and I know my Character is not there. But then you have lost track and lost you history. Now for a bone necro you would be stupid not to go for a summoner first and only very much later on high level you would reset and distribute the skill points and stats complete new. You would go for teeth very much in the beginning because they are a synergy for later and you would never have enough mana for it what made the game challenging.

If you wanted to play a bone necro (for some reason a common way to call him is not allowed here as a name, as a non native english speaker I do not know why ) you wouldnt have put any points into skellies for example. Earler you had to plan your character to develop and live with the challenges that arise from it like that you did not have much mana. Then there was a rather recent change (like only a decade ago) where a full reset of the character was introduced with the Den of Evil quest. Originally in D2 there was no way to respec.
